Moscow restoration 2017
An official award ceremony for Moscow Restoration contest (commissioned by Moscow government) took place on 7th of December in Mossovet Theatre. This contest is carried out every year with increasing popularity among architects, renovators, builders and historians. The contest was founded in 2011, and more than 890 cultural heritage objects in Moscow have been renovated since. Among the awarded renovation projects were the Moscow Planetarium, the Triumphal Arch, former Zentrosoyuz building by Le Corbuzier, The Big Hall of Moscow Conservatory, former tenement buildings in Bolshaya Lyubanka, Church of Flor and Lavr and many others.
According to the head of the Cultural heritage department of Moscow, Alexey Emelyaninov, this year a massive number of 46 projects were fighting for the awards in four different nominations. Alexey Emelyaninov has awarded Elena Kaburneeva, the CEO of International Ballet Center, a diploma with gratitude for investing in restoration of a cultural heritage object of federal importance. It should be reminded that the building was in critical condition before the renovation started last year. Today International Ballet Centre is a pearl of VDNH and a real ballet school for everybody who wishes to dance.
Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin has congratulated the winners and thanked all laureats for impressive labor and reverent attitude toward history.
