Dance without limits! When dreams come true

Dance without limits! When dreams come true

The official opening of International Ballet Centre took place on the 5th of June 2017. The guests arrived in one of the most beautiful VDNH pavilions and were met by the Centre’s founder and CEO Elena Kaburneeva, as well as reporters and journalists. The pavilion offered its luxurious interior to the the guests, who enjoyed the company of famous ballet stars, live sax music, champagne and delicate aroma of hydrangeas and peonies. Among the main attractions were an exhibition of photos before and after renovation, a video of Bolshoi’s prima ballerina Anastasia Meskova (photos by star photographer Octavia Colt and BALLET INSIDER team.

Among our most celebrated attendees was Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow. Mr Sobyanin watched performances by our youngest students as well as invited dancers. He made a memorial speech and cut the red ribbon. According to Mayor’s words, lessons in the Centre may be a good start for a future professional career in choreography for children.

Elena Kaburneeva added that “Russian ballet is a national treasure by right and Russian ballet school is one of the best in the world. Every child should have a chance to make his or her dreams come true in our Centre. Interesting trainings and gala-concerts are being prepared so that our students can socialize and even perform on the same stage with world ballet stars. Special programmes for children with disabilities are also being designed. Today a new home for ballet art has appeared on Moscow’s map – International Ballet Centre”.

Among those who took part in the festive show were Bolshoi’s prima ballerina Anastasia Stashkevich, Bolshoi’s leading soloist Vyacheslav Lopatin. Ludmila Conovalova, the prima ballerina of Vienna State Opera, became a special guest of the evening, performing a choreography of Renato Zanella “Alles Walzer” set to Verdi’s music. Another adornment of the programme was a free-hearted dance “Lolita” by the young Tatiana Vasilishina, set to Rachmaninov’s music.

The ceremonial evening continued with closed doors and concluded with a pinnacle of confectionary art – a cake in the form of the pavilion 62, a new home for all dance lovers.
