Life after death. Ave Maya
On March 6, a gala concert in memory of the great Maya Mikhailovna Plisetskaya took place at the Colosseum Theater in London. This evening was conceived during the life of the “Russian swan”, but became an epitaph.
The artistic director of the project was Andris Liepa, the son of a dancer and one of the most prominent partners of M.M. Plisetskaya.
General Director of the “International Ballet Center” Elena Kaburneeva talks about her impressions of the evening in memory of the legendary ballerina:
“The hall of the Colosseum was overcrowded. London greeted leading performers from various ballet companies with a standing ovation. Fragments from the ballets Don Quixote, Spartacus, Tricorne Hat, Carmen Suite, Bolero, Swan Lake, in which Maya Mikhailovna shone, were shown. She will forever be remembered. And future generations, studying the history of ballet, will not cease to admire her perception of life, uncompromising, courage and unconditional talent. She has become a real symbol of Russian ballet. Once again, I would like to thank the organizers of the program, all the dancers who treated this important event with such respect.
Now the dance of the great teachers who have gone into eternity continues to live in the art of students, Ave Maya.
